Start with what is already in your basket

What fits your fabric?

Measure the usable cloth. Choose the colors. Find a complete project.

For 14, 16 or 18-count Aida stitched over one square. We compare both orientations against each pattern’s recommended working cloth, including its finishing allowance. The full chart stays intact.

Measure after excluding frayed edges and damaged areas. Very narrow scraps may not fit these complete finishing plans. Do not remove required margins to force a match.

Only use DMC colors I already have

Select the numbers on your skeins. With none selected, all palettes are eligible. A match checks color numbers, not whether you have enough thread.

Unnumbered leftovers and other brands cannot be matched exactly here. Open a pattern to review its palette and thread estimates; substitutions need your own color and contrast check.

Choose your measurements, then find matching patterns.

Before you cut or print

  • The working-cloth size is deliberately larger than the stitched design and the final trim. Keep this extra cloth until the finishing stage.
  • A rotated match turns the whole layout a quarter turn on the cloth. Keep the stitches aligned with the Aida grid.
  • Downloads use your chosen cloth count and paper, the pattern’s recommended margin, two strands and 20% spare thread. PDF measurements are in inches; this tool can display centimeters.
  • Print at 100% and measure the ruler on any full-size template. Symbol charts are enlarged for reading.
  • Check actual hoop hardware, backing and fabric thickness before cutting. Assembly and physical print scaling have not been sample-tested.
